GOODBYE MY FRIEND 06. 20. 11

We celebrated the life of an old friend this weekend. I just re-linked with Dream these past few years or so. It was real uplifting to hear all the stories of the lives he impacted during the post graff years. Nobody from the crew went up to speak, but it’s ok, that’s something us writers have, or memories with the KING DREAM, SMD, not for everybody else………. I put a silver and blue LA hands in the casket along with a can of true blue and 99¢ silver. after the service and life celebration, a few of us heads went back to the studio to talk smack bout each other and have a toast to the king.

u can’t get a gang of OG’s out and not bust out blackbooks……

Diss iz a real difficult post for me….. I still can’t believe my ninja DREAM has gone to that yard in the sky…….. Thanx for the memories, all the good times and for making me feel welcome when I was a stranger to LA. Being he was Philipino from Carson, he reminded me of a local boy from back home. Everybody thought he was Samoan cuz of his dookie braids and ganxta mentallity ( and we kicked it with BOO YAA TRIBE ). This is the most recent flick Steve Grody snapped of us a month back at the TEMPT wall. He loved that shit cuz it was all silver and black.

GREEN, SLICK and KING DREAM…………….SMD, mo fo’, SMD! They made me honorary SMD fo the day, like DMC said,”…..down with the Kiiiiing”. You will be missed my brotha but never forgotten, KING DREAM……………

CLIFF, RIDE IN PARADISE 01. 26. 11

Clifford, Cliffy, Cliff Dee, Heath Cliff, and even Hump Daddy were just some of the names he was known by. But to most of us he was plain ole Cliff!
But “plain ole” Cliff was not! Cliffs impact in the car scene, along with his pristine 1964 Ford Galaxie 500, started with a group of guys and their tricked out rides who gathered every weekend at the local Jolly Rogers to catch up and talk story. However, it was Cruise Mode Car Club, RockBottom Minis, and The Others Bike Club that had the honor of having him as part of their family. No matter what family he was in at the time, he will always be remembered as the guy who helped clean your ride for a car show, who stayed up all night working on your hydraulic system and who stayed up all night piecing together your 1960s’ Schwinn bicycle. Cliff may be gone, but his passion and essence will live on in all whose lives he has touched.
